Chemistry Subject Matter Expert
W. W. Norton is hiring a Chemistry Subject Matter Expert to develop and edit chemistry content and help support customers using our digital materials for college-level courses in preparatory, general, and organic chemistry. This is a full-time position that reports to the Editorial Director of Digital Media.Responsibilities include:•Serving as an evangelist for Norton's chemistry content and platforms; this may include occasional travel to college campuses, focus groups, academic conventions such as ACS and BCCE, and Norton's sales conferences •Conducting implementation workshops and virtual focus groups via webinar •Supporting adopters in their implementation of Norton's SmartWork program; this will include consulting with customers and providing advice on building assignments and managing gradebook •Responding to adopter content concerns and helpdesk tickets; addressing content concerns in Norton's proprietary content development environment •Managing error-checking and revision of newly authored content •Coordinating with the Chemistry Media Editor to manage the transition of Norton's online homework content to a new proprietary LMS •Consulting with the Media Editor for Chemistry on new initiativesMinimum Qualifications:•M.S. or PhD in chemistry•experience teaching both general and/or organic chemistry at the college or university level -experience implementing and using a online homework system such as SmartWork, MasteringChemistry, OWL, Connect, or WebAssign in a college setting -experience with administering a college-level course using a campus LMS.
