Cinema Blend seeks an experienced and dynamic individual to head up our brilliant team as we leap forward. Editor-in-Chief means being in charge of the entire content side of our operation. You'd report directly to our Owner and end up managing a team of experienced, talented full-timers and freelancers in creating amazing and interesting content while leading coverage of breaking entertainment news as it happens.

To succeed you must be creative and motivated; an epic editor and a top-notch writer who doesn't shy away from controversy; a skilled manager with the ability to motivate others. Organizational and time management super-powers are essential. Gigawatts of creativity are a must.

We're looking for someone who thrives on being the first and the best. An industry insider with an intimate knowledge of movies and pop culture, and a rolodex as big as the collection of random knowledge inside their head.

An eye for sharp web layouts is a bonus as is experience in navigating social media and a deep understanding of the way internet traffic works.

You'll have to be willing and able to work on your own, juggling multiple projects in an intense, deadline-oriented environment. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary, but Cinema Blend exists proudly in the new media world. We aren't locked down in a stuffy office. Our team is scattered across the country in New York, LA, Dallas and more. You'll be managing our team long-distance from the comfort of your own home.

We're looking for someone with vision, the kind of person who sees the big picture and doesn't shy away from rolling up their sleeves and getting things done. Cinema Blend needs a hard-working talent with big ideas as big as our own. If that's you get the ball rolling by sending us your resume, an amazing pitch, and a list of references. Blow our minds with your big ideas and become a permanent part our future.

A boring, itemized list of necessary skills and experience follows. Note, this is not a complete list, it's just a good starter:
  • You must have at least 5 years of experience as an editor in the online entertainment reporting industry.
  • Have contacts in the movie industry. For instance, if you don't already know how to contact the PR department at Warner Bros., you should not apply.
  • We're primarily looking for someone already in New York City, but if you're willing to relocate and you're amazing, we might consider you.
  • While Cinema Blend covers a wide range of entertainment topics, and you'd be working in all those areas, you aren't required to know everything about all of them. However, we particularly need someone with experience and knowledge of modern, popular film culture. Know your Star Wars! Cinema Blend is known for its movie coverage first and foremost.
  • Know how to use Adobe Photoshop on a basic level.
  • Have a basic understanding of HTML formatting.
  • Have a basic understanding of how to use Facebook and Twitter.

Blow our minds with your big ideas for pushing Cinema Blend to even greater heights.

Please include salary requirements, with your application.
