Full Time
We do (almost) everything, so you will too. We pride ourselves on getting things done for clients--without the bureaucracy or baggage (or the boring) of big firms:

• Whether it’s a policy issue or product launch, you will be responsible for hearing what a client needs and demonstrating a thorough understanding of the industry and issues.
• You’ll develop and execute public relations strategies for clients.
• We offer more than public relations; you’ll participate in strategy development for client campaigns based on their priorities including media relations, executive positioning and crisis communications.
• You will regularly interact with clients, teams, and outside consultants.

• You will serve as the key information source for all media contacts requesting information, background, and analysis.
• You’ll help us all be smarter, reviewing ongoing media coverage and event strategies of clients, issues, and competitors, and making strategic recommendations based on the information.
• And you’ll help us work smarter, establishing processes for maximizing, tracking and analyzing print, broadcast and online coverage.

• You will be responsible for both the substantial and mundane tasks associated with media relations from creating strategic communications outreach plans and messaging to updating press lists and tracking media coverage.
• And you’ll write, authoring press releases, statements, web content, speaking abstracts, etc.
• We work as a team, and you will support the development of client proposals and media materials: plans, presentations, reports and communications documents.

• You will cultivate strong and trusted relationships with media, pitching compelling story angles and coordinating interviews--garnering positive attention for clients as well as for the Glen Echo Group.
• And sometimes you’ll be the voice of clients and coalitions, acting as spokesperson for their issues and products.

We take our work very seriously, but not ourselves. We work hard and get things done. Our ideal candidate will:

• Have 5-8 years of public relations and strategic communication experience, translating complicated issues into simple, compelling messaging strategies
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
• Strong interest in the Internet, technology and public policy
• The ability to write clearly and concisely
• Be very skilled at pitching and placing stories in a variety of media platforms
• Have a solid understanding of and experience working with digital platforms and tools
• Be able to produce high-quality work and meet deadlines while simultaneously managing multiple projects
• Be creative and savvy
• Have excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
• Want to be part of a hard working, fast-growing and fun-loving team
