Your tasks
This is a marketing design role in Crown?s Art Department that works on our Crown Trade, Hogarth and Broadway imprints. The Designer is both a communicative and conceptual thinker who creates traditional print and physical advertising as well as user-centered digital and interactive design. They will work with colleagues on creative assets for all of consumer and sales marketing assets. The Designer is a thought-leader within the group who drives design strategy around branding and graphic presentation.

This position reports to the Crown Trade Art Director, Art Department and works closely with the rest of the design and marketing teams.

Responsibilities & Duties

?Design print advertising including magazine and newspaper ads as well as in-store and promotional materials
?Devise and create digital assets including web sites, display ads, rich media ads, Flash animation, and email creative
?Creates detailed wireframes for web sites and other web assets
?Collaborate with other designers overarching Crown group assets as needed.
?Establishes branding and identity for our books as well as Crown?s publishing imprints
?Stay up-to-date on current best practices and trends in design thinking, web technologies and usability, and share information with design and marketing teams
?Support marketing and publicity departments in executing special design projects

Our requirements
Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 3 years ad promo design experience

?Excellent graphic design ability and a passion for design
?Excellent artistic sensibility: superior eye for color and composition
?Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
?Solid knowledge of designing for HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
?Solid prowess in designing for online advertising including Flash, rich media production, and attendant digital technologies
?Strong knowledge of creating wireframes and user-intuitive site functionality, navigation, and interaction
?Working understanding of social media sites and tools; grasp of SEO and SMO
?Some grasp of information architecture and UI
?Passionate interest in book design and typography
?Excellent communication skills
?Ability to identify gaps and tackle projects independently
?Collaborative nature and desire to communicate design thinking
