Education Programs Director
Research, develop, implement and manage cost-effective and quality education program content that fulfills member, attendee and industry professionals’ needs; effectively utilize technology to facilitate learning/knowledge transfer, and extend the reputation of the Specialty Food Association in the specialty food industry.•Lead the development of state-of-the-art learning resources and methods for live-learning and online programs. Develop innovative approaches for program curriculum, content and course design (workshops, seminars, roundtables, tours, webinars, podcasts, video, downloadable resources, elearning platforms), generate topic ideas, research speakers and review proposals for content.•Manage speaker relations for live and online education events, including setting Specialty Food Association expectations regarding content; negotiating contracts, collecting presentations and handout materials, and communicating pre-event and onsite about details and logistics.•Coordinate with Operations staff on registration, travel arrangements, room assignments, session flow and set-up, event timing, schedule of events, staff duties, catering and other operational details.•Coordinate with Marketing staff to promote education programs through various attendance-building materials, such as banner ads, brochures, online, etc., as well as direct mail and mail customized for attendee and exhibitor segments, to increase program awareness and attendance.•Manage current web-based offerings by ensuring content and selection are current and updated; respond to inquiries about web-based offerings.•Provide internal and external customer service support by fielding general industry-related education and resource questions.To perform this job effectively, a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years of experience with education and event planning are required. Experience in professional development and/or Adult Learning techniques is important, and a Master’s Degree is desirable.
