Al Jazeera America is looking for an experienced Social Media/Digital Marketing Manager to help with project management and content development for our social and digital platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a newly launched news channel.
Working within Al Jazeera America’s marketing department and reporting to the Director of Digital Marketing, this role will be responsible for:
•Providing project management support for social and digital marketing initiatives, including liaising with internal teams, securing executive approvals and tracking timelines
•Developing content for social and digital media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Google Hangouts, Tumblr, Instagram, email and web
•Tracking and reporting metrics around social posts and fan engagement, applying strategic analysis to feed learnings back to the team
•Working closely with external agencies to secure approvals and content for various digital marketing initiatives

•3+ years experience in digital/social media marketing, preferably in TV news and/or non-fiction programming, with experience managing projects
•Excellent editorial judgment and writing skills
•Professional experience developing engaging content for key social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Google+, etc.), email program management experience is a plus
•A track record of excellence in an extremely fast-paced environment with lots of moving pieces and constant change
•Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
•Strong communication and follow up skills
•A strong interest in news and current events

•Bachelors’ degree
•Must be able to work out of our New York City office
