Set the scene and tell the story – that’s what our copywriters do. And we are passionate about meat. So our stories are always interesting!

The Copywriter will work closely with other members of the Creative Communication Team to brainstorm ideas and bring those ideas to fruition through the written word. Copywriters are responsible for crafting powerful, concise communications to reach a specified target audience.

Responsibilities:

Fully participate in creative concept development for client projects
•Write copy for client projects. Projects include but are not limited to websites, e-newsletters, brochures, flyers, print and radio advertisements, sell sheets and presentations
•Proofread and edit copy for client projects
•Draft press releases in conjunction with the Public Relations Manager
•Draft topic outlines for client projects
•Research background required for project copy
•Build and manage email campaigns using Constant Contact or similar service provider
•Stay up-to-date on industry trends related to client projects
•Identify and read publications that will inspire creative copywriting
•Identify areas where the team can improve efficiencies and help implement tools to achieve those efficiencies
•Update project status in EasyProjects.net on a daily basis
•Other work as directed

Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications or related field. Candidate must have 3-5 years of copywriting experience (agency experience preferred), working knowledge of the AP Stylebook, excellent grammar and punctuation skills and the ability to write for various audiences across multiple media using appropriate voice and tone. Proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat is required. Social media skills are a huge plus.

Because we are a fast-paced office, it is essential for the candidate to be able to handle multiple projects on tight deadlines, be a quick learner, able to plan and organize content, work independently and on a team, and stay on budget and meet deadlines.
