The Director of Public Relations and Corporate Communications is part of the North American brand development teams of Marketing and Public Relations and collaborates with the global counterparts to implement certain programs in North America. The primary function is to contribute to the overall company performance by collaborating with internal departments and external agencies to efficiently implement PR and Social media programs and initiatives to maximize ROI.


Directs and supervises PR and Social Media agencies day-to-day activities and overall PR/SM content and communication programs in select target media and demographic
Create SM and Content Strategy, generate creative concepts and manage social channels and communities
Website contribution, e-commerce content and programming
Collaboration with freelance writers, bloggers, editors, designers, producers, directors, videographers, etc.
Provide overall support for the development and activation of PR/SM, experiential and sampling events, overseeing production companies, producers, logistic coordination, budgeting, artist and third party spokespersons negotiations, including outsourcing assignments and media outreach, arranging meetings, conference calls, travel arrangements
Support and align with illy’s sales department and marketing divisions to leverage advertising, sales, promotions, account activations, relationships, sponsorships, food and trade events
Responsibilities include research, identifying of media opportunities, press releases writing, corporate announcements, creative input, product fulfillment, retail and trade show support
Create and publish internal company newsletters and PR activity reporting


BS in Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism or related fields
Minimum of 10 years in Communications, Journalism or Public Affairs
5 years in a similar capacity incuding management and leadership responsibilities
Prior experience working for a premium brand is a must
Communicate effectively written and oral communication with clear, concise, and succinct accuracy of often complex concepts
Critical thinking to solve detailed, complex challenges and find suitable (often original) alternative solutions
Strong negotation skills
Establish and maintin interpersonal high level relationships and outside of the company
Project management and planning
Good Social Media knowledge active in key channels
Presentation skills, ability to create and present information to internal and external audiences
Strong management and Leadrship skills
Computer skills: MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) & Adobe Acrobat reader, ability to use Adobe CS (Photoshop illustrator) and/or basic video editing programs a plus
Organization, Budgeting, Delegation, Goal Setting, Data Compilation and Distribution, Time Management
20% travel, mostly to US cities, one international per year
Valid Driver's License
