NYLON is seeking a candidate for a position within the Advertising Department: Beauty Account Manager. The position calls for substantial experience in the industry- with a proven track record, working with multiple categories within prestige and mass beauty including haircare, fragrance and color. We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual to join our growing team. Please specify the position applied for in a cover letter explaining your qualifications. Primary duties for the position include the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Generate income through the sale of advertising

Prospect for new accounts, aggressively pursuing new leads and sales opportunities on the phone and in person

Prepare sales presentations and creative ideas for prospective and current clients

Review competitive media and identify prospects and opportunities

Develop and maintain both local direct and agency accounts

Build relationships in the community to assist the magazine in reaching revenue goals

Create and implement client presentations and marketing plans

Represent NYLON at client and company events to promote business


REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree; two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Superior verbal and written communication skills

Must be detail-oriented and be able to multi-task efficiently

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Must be able to attend job-related events and social functions as needed

Knowledge of the marketplace

New York City sales experience
