Qualifications and Abilities:The new President and CEO is a charismatic, visionary leader with a strong understanding of media dynamics. S/he will be a passionate advocate and supporter of KCTS 9’s mission, and its important role in the communities it serves. As the spokesperson and external face of KCTS 9, the ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively and consistently articulate KCTS 9’s mission and vision. The President and CEO of KCTS 9 is a senior media executive who is an innovative thinker, capable of strategizing about the future of public broadcasting while building tactical plans and driving action to achieve goals. With awareness and understanding of past, present, and future media trends, the President and CEO will energize the team to achieve the next phase of growth. Minimum Qualifications:•A minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience in public/private broadcasting media, a high profile nonprofit, and/or arts/educational institution•Strong understanding and familiarity with public broadcasting, nonprofit cultures, models, and community organizations in the capacity of a volunteer, Board or committee members•Significant and proven success in fundraising and Board relations •A background that demonstrates the ability to conceptualize, administer, evaluate, and communicate strategic initiatives •Experience serving as an organization’s spokesperson•A Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferredTo Be ConsideredThe KCTS 9 is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
