Job Description:The Web Producer is primarily responsible for publishing content on a daily and weekly basis on poetryfoundation.org. Publishing entails entering content (articles, poems, visual art, audio poems, and podcasts) into the Foundation’s CMS and formatting some aspects of it by using basic HTML. The producer is also responsible for programming landing pages of the website, updating other content, publishing e-mail newsletters, preparing web traffic data reports, proofreading, coordinating weekly production meetings, and other administrative, image production, and online community moderation tasks. The producer works closely with the editorial staff to ensure articles, poems, and other content move efficiently through all the steps of the editorial and production processes; and with the design and web development teams on tasks related to site upgrades and maintenance.Qualifications:Strong knowledge of HTML and web publishing tools and processes, including extensive experience using a CMS.Strong knowledge of CSS.Excellent organizational, verbal and written communications skills, including meeting coordination and facilitation.Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.Three to four years experience producing websites.Ability to work under a deadline and to complete administrative tasks meticulously.Photoshop or other graphics software experience preferred.Some knowledge of and interest in poetry and/or literature preferred.The Poetry Foundation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
