Program Manager, Sports
Member Relations:•Provide clients with information about our company and the service we offer by phone, email, and direct in-person communication•Oversee program sales and assist members with individual and team registrations•Manage member needs throughout the season including player inquiries, team conflicts, scheduling requests, weather postponements, and other needs as they arise•Interact with players on-site and contribute to the well run, high-energy, positive atmosphere•Attend the kick-off happy hours and assist in team introductions and t-shirt distribution Gamestaff Relations:•Send on-site staff timely, relevant information that will enable them to provide high quality service•Serve as emergency contact during events•Conduct on-site visits to assist and evaluate gamestaff; act as backup in emergencies•Lead small group discussions and serve as thought leader in quarterly all-staff meetings •Have a firm grasp of the rules, locations, and equipment for each programOffice Relations:•Collaborate with the Game Operations department on staffing, scheduling, and venues•Collaborate with the Marketing department on social media, photography, and third party sponsorship deliverables•Participate in a weekly status meeting in order to provide insightful, creative ideas for improvements and promotions•Contribute to a welcoming and warm office environment and train new employees•Other Duties as assigned or requestedQualified applicants will:•Have at least 3 years experience in Program Management, Member Services, Client Management, Customer Service, and/or Event Administration with a working knowledge of sports•Have an unshakeable work ethic, be extremely reliable, thorough, organized, and detailed, with the ability to handle multiple projects and groups of clients simultaneously•Have a proven track record of taking initiative, demonstrating ownership, and completing projects successfully, on time, and within budget•Understand the nuances of our business – that it is fun and we take it seriously•Have a kung-fu grip on the English language and excellent written and verbal communication skills •Have a great sense of humor•Be available on weeknights and weekends as needed, even with short notice•Have a valid drivers licenseBonus points for:•Sales or marketing experience•Graphic Design and basic HTML skills•Familiarity with the Adult Recreational Sport Industry•Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Docs with particular emphasis on ExcelInterested applicants should submit resumes, letters of interest detailing their applicable experience and any sports league participation, along with 3 writing samples by .pdf attachment through email: jobs AT nycsocial DOT com.
