About the Role:
HuffPost is now taking its editorial success and using the experience to transform how real-time content can be used across paid, owned and earned channels for major global brands. The Brand Strategist will play a key role in efforts aimed at creating and implementing industry-leading, revenue-driving marketing platforms for our clients. Targeting top-tier strategic accounts, the Brand Strategist will be required to build relationships, both internally with the AOL sales team and externally with agencies and brands direct. Accountable for developing and growing revenue for both brands and category, the Brand Strategist must build relationships with current and prospective customers; understand customer needs and deliver stellar customer service.


Responsibilities:
Identify and sell significant, strategic accounts to drive revenue within category/account list, working with agencies and clients direct
Lead strategy and ideation for custom content-based marketing programs
Work collaboratively with the social impact/branded content editorial team, HuffPost Partner Studio, product, creative, legal, research, PR, internal ops, and sales to construct the best-branded content experiences for brands and for The Huffington Post
Effectively represent and package our HuffPost product portfolio including branded content platforms, native ads, HuffPost LIVE, mobile, global, syndication, and research
Negotiate complex branded content partnership deals with the ability to navigate both internal and external teams
With minimal direction, assume heavy responsibility for final results – limited only by company policies and budgets
Post sale, work with account management and HuffPost Partner Studio to track success of custom programs, compile results and provide recommendations for future programs, with ultimate goal of program renewal and incremental revenue
Stay abreast of content marketing and native advertising trends in order to best service existing accounts and develop new relationships


Requirements:
8 – 10 years experience selling advertising
4+ years of digital sales experience
Bachelor’s degree. MBA a plus.
Proven track record in getting to key client decision makers at senior levels of partner organizations.
The ability to think creatively and work collaboratively with client and internal groups including; business development, AOL O&O partners and account services.
Career history of meeting revenue responsibility and producing innovative solutions for branded advertisers.
Social media savvy
A demonstrated excitement about HuffPost’s editorial mission
Project management skills, with ability to move programs from concept to completion
Desire to work in a fun, fast-paced environment
