HarperCollins 360 is seeking a Publicity and Marketing Associate to join the New York-based team of this global publishing and distribution initiative, publishing a select group of titles from HarperCollins UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India into the US marketplace.

This position will work closely with the Publicity Manager to implement strategic PR plans for HarperCollins 360 titles to ensure brands and authors are developed on all levels producing best results, using both traditional and digital methods. This position will also work closely with the Affiliate Publisher on implementing strategic and creative marketing efforts for Harper 360 titles in both print and eBook formats. The ideal candidate has a passion for books, creative thinking and enjoys using the latest digital communication platforms.

In addition to providing general administrative support to the Publicity Manager and Affiliate Publisher, this position will handle many tasks to support major publicity campaigns and marketing initiatives. Publicity responsibilities include writing press releases, pitching media, handling media requests, arranging travel for author tours, handling media schedules for campaigns, liaising with related in-house departments as well as researching special media outlets for certain campaigns. Marketing responsibilities include collaborating on planning and implementation of online advertising campaigns in places such as Facebook, Google, and Goodreads, book blog and website research and outreach, providing support and outreach for eBook price promotions, and creating materials required for launch, planning and sales conference meetings including catalogs, planning sheets, and fact sheets.


- 2 years of experience in book publicity or marketing; trade book experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills, including fluid writing skills
- Superb organizational skills
- Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Excellent computer skills including the MS Office Suite; Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, HTML5 and other web based applications languages a plus
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment
- Interest in international publishing a plus
- A college degree ore equivalent experience
