Money-Media (www.money-media.com), based in Manhattan, is seeking a Research Analyst to join our team covering the asset management industry. This position is based in our New York City office.This is a new position created to capitalize on client demand for in-depth intelligence and analysis on topical industry developments. The Research Analyst role will evolve over time, and the growth in responsibility will depend on the employee’s experience and job performance. The Research Analyst role is a highly collaborative position, working closely with the Director of Research and other members of the research team. At the same time, when tasked with well-defined projects the Research Analyst must be able to manage them with a high degree of autonomy. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable both in the asset management industry and in either writing or learning to write original research and analysis. Effective writing skills, critical thinking aptitude, and the ability to work under deadlines are of paramount importance. The Research Analyst’s responsibilities will include: • Developing periodic research reports, notes and analyses about trends in the asset management industry related to business strategy • Staying abreast of current trends in asset management • Building and testing online surveys • Administering surveys from start to finish, and following up with survey respondents • Creating charts and graphs from survey data, and identifying stories/trends in the data • Participating in calls with research sources • Building and maintaining shared lists/databases • Helping research new ideas for surveys and new survey participants • Conducting online or document-based researchThe ideal candidate has a college degree and 3+ years of experience in investment management/wealth management, research or journalism. The following skills are crucial: • Superior writing and analytical skills • Project management skills and a strong attention to detail • Knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Facility with numbers, and a basic understanding of statistical concepts. • Experience interacting with senior-level executives • Understanding of the asset management industry Money-Media is a friendly company with an entrepreneurial spirit.
