Climate Central is looking for a standout graphics and animation designer and producer to create weather and climate themed, TV quality still and animated graphics. You will work closely with our team of scientists and data analysts to break down and synthesize scientific data and topics to simple, easy to understand visuals. This position will be located in our Princeton, NJ office.

Responsibilities
•Design and produce a high volume, steady stream of TV broadcast quality graphics and animations on weather and climate science.
•Work with our in-house data analysts and scientists to visualize and present scientific data and information in new and informative ways.
•Participate in special projects across departmental lines as needed.
•Communicate effectively, contribute ideas, and help as needed on a small, close editorial team.

Qualifications
•3 years+ of professional experience.
•An undergraduate degree (BS, BFA) in Graphic Design, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
•Strong design skills and portfolio that demonstrates in-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
•Proficiency in Mac platform and Microsoft Office.
•Experience and working knowledge of motion design and Flash.
•Self-starter with strong self-management skills; ability to work independently, organize and manage multiple priorities.
•Web and multimedia design and development experience preferred, but not required.
•Experience in designing graphics for weather and television a plus, but not required.
•Experience in WSI, Weather Central, AccuWeather, and Final Cut Pro a plus, but not required.
•Commitment to communicating climate change is not required, but it will make the work more interesting.
