In this position you will be responsible for providing administrative and editorial support for two Editorial Managers and one Editorial Director, who are responsible for the creation of monthly Reading Club catalogs and handle all tasks from book selection to catalog execution. This position has a focus on Middle Grade and Young Adult fiction and non-fiction.

Specific Responsibilities:

•Assist in the monthly compilation of titles that will appear in the catalogs
•Schedule meetings
•Attend publisher/vendor presentations
•Read and select books for use in the catalogs
•Keep an index of books read and their reviews
•Enter all title information in the systems
•Run P&L reports
•Create deal memos and production packets for acquired titles
•Shepherd books into production and acts as liaison for production matters
•Collaborate with the design team, marketing, copywriters, and photographers to gather information, art, and copy for on-line and print catalogs
•Liaise and maintain relationships with outside publishers
•Communicate with Teacher Advisors or other experts in the field to have the most current understanding of curriculums and education trends
•Request samples of manuscripts and books for review
•Proofread and check mechanicals and page proofs for the catalogs
•Other administrative duties as required

•Strong communication skills

Specific Experience:
•College degree, BS/BA
•Interest in children’s books

Specific Skills:
•Proficient in Microsoft Office
