Business Insurance, a biweekly news magazine and website covering risk management, commercial insurance and employee benefits, seeks a Copy Editor to edit stories for magazine edition and daily news items for the website. Candidate will work closely with copy desk chief, reporters and other editors to edit breaking news, analytical news stories and feature content. In addition, successful candidate will proof pages, write headlines and photo captions and carry out other production work for the website and magazine.

Requirements

Candidate should have firm understanding of AP style, excellent headline writing skills and extensive editing skills. This is a job for someone with an eye for detail, who understands financial news and can rewrite and restructure complex stories when necessary. Daily journalism experience and at least 3 – 5 years copy editing experience preferred. We cover a wide range of issues so an ability to grasp a variety of subjects is vital. Position based in Chicago.
