The Media Coordinator (MC) is an integral part of the account team and assists with media outreach and media strategy. The MC has experience pitching, foundation of media contacts, superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks on an ongoing basis. The MC is a self-starter who learns quickly and has the ability to multi-task in a busy, deadline-driven environment. The MC should also be familiar with relevant beauty and lifestyle outlets.

Responsibilities:
•Responsible for managing daily client coverage monitoring, clipping, and media placement reports
•Draft and send media pitches for clients
•Responsible for securing media placements for clients
•Proactively contribute ideas for pitches and media outreach
•Develop and maintain successful relationships with key media members
•Develop and manage media contact databases and create media lists that demonstrate a solid understanding of the media
•Assemble press materials, press kits and product shipments
•Maintain and update account files
•Attend in-person meetings and events with client, when appropriate
•Respond in a timely and professional manner to client requests or needs
•Assist in the research and development of programs for current clients and new business opportunities
•Coordinate event logistics, proactively thinking through all pieces of an event and taking first pass at presenting team lead with best recommended action plan for facilitating a seamless event
•Keep abreast of each client’s industry, competition and coverage
•Regularly identify new opportunities for clients
•Assist in managing interns as assigned

Job Specifications/Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree
•Major in public relations, communications, or related field preferred
•At least 1 year agency experience (internships can be included)
•Knowledge of current events
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Strong telephone communication skills
•Proficiency in Associated Press (AP) writing style
•Proven ability to meet deadlines, juggle multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced office environment
•Expertise in using MS Office software and Internet research tools
