As the Portfolio Strategy Director you will develop, champion, and oversee the overall quality of Strategic Planning across a portfolio of accounts within the agency, which will include:

* Audience, market & competitive insights
* Brand strategy development
* Messaging, story, & creative brief development
* Strategic content development

You will partner with the Portfolio Account Director and Portfolio Creative Director to lead the portfolio by setting the strategic direction, identifying priorities, and stimulating business development. This role collaborates with Engagement Planning and Experience Planning to develop audience journeys across the purchase lifecycle, from attraction and engagement to activation and advocacy. In this role, you will manage, lead and mentor a team of strategic planners working across all clients within the portfolio by:

- Creating and overseeing the creation of all Strategic Planning deliverables across all clients within a portfolio of agency accounts, including:

* Research and master: Audience, market, and competitive insights; audience personas
* Brand strategy development
* “Demand Idea” development & creative brief development
* Messaging & positioning strategies
* Messaging framework and story development
* Messaging across all audience engagement vehicles—from above-the-line to below-the-line activities
* Strategic content development
* Digital content briefs

- Ensuring standards of quality for Strategic Planning across the portfolio:
* Managing, leading and mentoring a team of strategic planners who work on client accounts across the portfolio; overseeing and ensuring the quality of the work they create
* Managing workload and staffing to align resources with account demands
* Ensuring knowledge transfer across the portfolio

- Collaborating with Engagement Planning and Experience Planning colleagues to develop audience journeys across the purchase lifecycle, from attraction and engagement to activation and advocacy, including:
* Relationship marketing programs
* Demand generation programs
* Web site, social, and other digital experiences
* Content marketing

- Partnering with Portfolio Account Director and Portfolio Creative Director to lead the portfolio, collaborating with these colleagues to:
* Set the overall strategic direction for the portfolio
* Ensure overall health and profitability of clients in the portfolio
* Ensure satisfaction of clients and employees within the portfolio
* Identify business development opportunities and lead new business strategies and presentations

* A 4-Year College Degree in a related discipline
* Minimum of 5 years working in account planning
* Minimum of 8 years experience in a related marketing function (public relations, advertising, or marketing)
* Agency and Management experience
* Exceptional writing skills
* Significant experience working with High Tech companies
* Experience in B2B marketing
* Strong background in collaborating with creative teams to bring ideas to life
* Solid reasearch background
* Demonstrable experience and success in the areas of:
- Developing a deep understanding a client’s audiences, market, and competitive environment
- Developing compelling and useful audience & market insights
- Creating brand strategies, messaging platforms and creative platforms that made a demonstrable difference to a client’s business
