Description: To ensure the timely availability of all GAB print products to OUP end users by making accurate quantity and profitability decisions, while maintaining appropriate levels of stock.

1. Work in conjunction with the Editorial, Marketing, Sales and Reprints Teams to ensure the stock availability of several divisions totaling approximately 5,500 titles

2. Ensure timely availability of stock in order to maintain fill rate, inventory levels and backorder targets

3. Make/review decisions on reprint quantities based on historical data, sales trends, unit cost, inventory levels and projected margins

4. Create and analyze reports in the SAP BW system, and utilize these reports to perform analysis for making planning improvement recommendations

5. Review and analyze demand planning forecasts and inventory reports

6. Create monthly Retrospective Analysis reports and review with the Publishers, Marketing, and Editorial in order to improve initial forecasting and print accuracy

7. Focus on the Customer (external and internal), by ensuring the availability of books and responding to inquiries within a 24 hour period

• Two to three years’ experience as a Demand Planner
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of contacts, from internal departments, colleagues, and management to external suppliers
• Good aptitude for learning, very good organizational skills and effective decision making and prioritizing skills
• High degree of attention to detail
• Experience with computers (PC), especially Excel, Word, internet

• Knowledge of SAP, ABC, APO, and BW software packages
• Experience at OUP or in a publishing environment
