Pace Communications, one of the largest content marketing agencies in the country, is now accepting resumes for a Digital Editor in our San Antonio, Texas office to lead two content channels for a Fortune 500 financial services company’s communications program.

The Digital Editor has primary responsibility for two content channels: a newsroom that consists of feature stories and news content updated on a daily basis, as well as a blog. This position requires a high degree of flexibility, plus the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. It also requires an understanding of client-based, branded content-style publishing, as well as consumer finance subject-matter expertise.
A strong foundation in the day-to-day workflow of the digital editorial process is required, including the development and management of content from assigning through editing, copyediting, fact-checking, optimization, QA, publishing and measurement. Must be comfortable in a client-facing environment.
The Digital Editor reports to the Editorial Director, and partners with edit and account teams to produce dynamic and engaging content.
•The Digital Editor serves as lead editor for a digital newsroom and blog that both focus on delivering content with an authentic editorial voice.
•Develops and maintain channels lineups and content calendars based on a variety of inputs, from client objectives to breaking external news, to be updated on a weekly basis.
•Participates in content strategy and planning, publishing new content several times a week and overseeing assignments for channel.
•Makes assignments to freelance and staff writers; edits, enters edit and client changes, and takes projects through editorial production.
•Manage and prioritize content creation workload, including identifying the best writer for each assignment.
•Ensures that content always supports the client’s brand and objectives.
•Guides writers on client’s brand, tone and style guidelines, and editorial philosophy.
•Reviews and utilizes existing content from other channels
•Works in collaboration with other team members, including account executive and art director, on brainstorming ideas.
•Follows industry news and shares information with group.

•Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or related field
•Experience 5+ years of experience as writer/editor in a fast-paced digital environment. Subject-matter expertise in consumer finance.
•Skills: Organized editor, writer, web researcher and interviewer, independent worker, proficient in all Microsoft Office programs, proficient in Adobe CS5 and InDesign, strong customer service/client relation skills.
