Brainlab is currently recruiting a Marketing Communications Manager based in Chicago, IL.


Concept, write and deliver on-brand marketing materials; edit content from others and coach where possible (product managers, external copywriters) to enhance clarity, achieve brand tone of voice and meet legal/regulatory standards prior to release

Develop press materials and coordinate review and release with external public relations firm
Work with team to enhance online presence – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn

Build and maintain external customer relationships and develop turnkey marketing solutions with appropriate ROI

Work on effective market strategies to inform comprehensive commercial campaigns including digital, print, and experience needs

Actively contribute to brainstorming sessions from a strategic and marketing perspective with both the corporate marketing team and product line team

Drive communication between Creative, Marketing Communications and Product Line Marketing teams

Manage project estimates; develop project plans and schedules; establish measures and milestones; track ongoing progress; proactively manage risks, issues and scope through the project life-cycle; report project status on a regular basis; address project issues when they arise

Manage, develop and evolve coordination of the internal review process, including legal/regulatory for marketing materials and maintain archived files for yearly internal audits; develop in-depth understanding of the regulatory climate and issues such as FDA requirements for promotional materials

Ensure project(s) are delivered on schedule and within budget, while satisfying agreed-upon
requirements and specifications within the scope of the project

Manage external partners, informing of brand standards and company guidelines

Manage and track analytics / metrics to understand response/retention analysis and ROI

Maintain motivational, positive attitude; conduct oneself as a leader

Experience in social media

Required Experience:

4-6 years marketing, marketing communications, public relations or agency experience

Solid writing and grammar skills; 2+ years’ experience in a creative marketing environment

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, English or related field

Familiar with print collateral, broadcast and digital/web development

Deliver exemplary project management and coordination capabilities

Drive results / deliver ROI

Work closely with Director of Corporate Marketing to help define and translate strategy into smart, consistent commercialization and messaging

Challenge the status quo and take appropriate risks

Have a sense of humor

Add value to an ambitious, energetic, fun, fast-paced marketing and creative team

Articulate ideas and present well to internal customers

Be a self-motivator, be organized and be detail-oriented

Possess excellent skills in writing, copy editing and verbal communications

Be proficient in customer relations and confident enough to deal with people of all levels, including senior management

Work unsupervised with ever-changing priorities and demanding deadlines

Manage time well, possess the ability to manage many work streams simultaneously

Commit to quality, with excellent attention to detail

Possess strong interpersonal skills

Contribute actively and pro-actively to the organization

Foster positive team interaction between offices; maintain a positive attitude, self-direct and self-motivate, generate fresh ideas

Know Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook well

Possess a high comfort level with software and technology
