Position Summary

The Web Producer will facilitate 92Y e-commerce and web efforts to help build a dynamic presence on the Internet through the development and maintenance of ongoing content for 92nd Street Y's Internet initiatives. These include sales for ticketed events, class registrations, fitness center memberships, merchandise, the creation of interactive content, design improvements, audience development and community-building. A strong background in user experience and information architecture is required.

Essential Functions

Monitor the maintenance of and assist with the update of Internet content including event/class descriptions, dates, biographies, program notes, press releases, and behind-the-scenes information; assist with uploading music, audio and video clips to the sites
Make recommendations for future site improvements by staying abreast of current technologies and possibilities
Ability to develop sitemaps and wireframes
Develop and improve 92Y’s Internet presence with code creation, CSS integrations, widgets
Work with marketing, sales, media relations, customer service and other centers and departments, assist in the writing and development of Internet content, including background articles, fundraising campaign information and staff/board lists
Create special online promotions to increase sales, visits and encourage online ticketing and donor giving
Develop email campaigns
Manage and direct links to reviews, interviews, and feature stories at print media sites such as The New York Times, Time-Out, etc.; and links to and from artist and related organizations, sites and appropriate retail outlets to add more interest and interactivity to the site
Work with appropriate 92Y staff, artist agencies or others to obtain music, videos, etc. for promotional purposes. Work with centers to produce audio and video clips for web use
Work with web and creative staff to update and add graphic images during the course of the season to keep the sites fresh
May be assigned other tasks and duties reasonably related to their job responsibilities

Education, Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and /or comparable and extensive technical website development experience
Experience in developing and maintaining websites
Experience in UI design for client server or web transaction based systems
Excellent web-writing and editing skills
Superior attention to detail
Ability to work in a collaborative environment with a broad constituency of talented, well-educated individuals with expertise in an extremely wide range of skills
Working knowledge of HTML, JQuery, CSS a must
Understanding of content management systems required. Experience with Kentico CMS and WordPress a plus
Prior experience of working within a marketing or sales organization an advantage.
