ABRAMS is seeking an organized individual, with excellent oral and written English language skills, to supervise staff and manage the day-to-day functions of the editorial department. Individual will oversee the list in terms of editors' workloads; monitor the progress of projects and ensure compliance with book-making processes and procedures; confer with editors regarding schedules, corrections and author-related issues; work with managing editorial to establish and maintain best practices; lead and participate in interdepartmental initiatives to improve and refine process and workflow; ensure catalog copy, fact sheets and other sales-related materials are up to standard and created on time; acquire and edit books, prepare P&Ls and budgets, evaluate proposals and research competitive titles, negotiate contracts; attend and participate in various departmental meetings.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in English or related field; 10+ years' experience working for an illustrated book publisher, including editing books and managing staff; excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff, freelancers and others. Acquisitions experience in Art, Photography and Design categories a plus.
