Director, International Rights
Responsible for leading and managing translation and international English language reprint licensing for books from all Wiley locations and across all businesses for the achievement of overall revenue objective. Working with the VP of Global Rights and reporting team members, Int’l Rights Director will develop and implement licensing plans, strategies and budgets taking into account publishing and new product strategies at Wiley and markets around the world. Manage and direct licensing at a level required by senior management and at a level consistent with Wiley’s reputation now established. Responsible for researching and reporting market intelligence from the marketplace, coordinating marketing efforts to maximize int’l licensing and motivating team to balance customer focus and Wiley goals. Work with the VP Director Global Rights and rest of her direct reports to formulate overall Rights strategies and objectives. Requirements:•College Degree•Multi-year rights, licensing, and negotiation experience•Proven ability to manage and lead•Deep knowledge of international markets•Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, listening skills, negotiating skills and interpersonal skills•Ability to manage multiple projects / priorities at once•Excellent judgment and organization, planning and analytical skills to effectively license rights to the existing and new accounts•Understands the importance of data flow, data integrity, and business process efficiency, as well as the potential role technology could play to improve or enhance them•Understands and monitors licensing business activities and processes which drive current and future financial performance and productivity /Utilizes this knowledge to develop improvement initiatives•A refined ability to assess information, draw implications and make meaningful recommendations on an appropriate course of action.•Highly motivated•Able to work within a fast-paced, team oriented environment•Ability to think strategically and develop either on his/her own or in conjunction with other senior management an effective licensing plan•Ability to work both independently as well as in cross functional teams•Strong leadership skills and a strong results orientation•Proven ability to motivate and direct staff to achieve targeted objectivesNo phone calls please.
