Nature Publishing Group (NPG), the publisher of Scientific American and a family of related scientific journals and reference works, has an opening for an Account Executive.

The Account Executive will primarily focus on the sale of digital advertising, but will also have the ability to bundle and sell integrated media solutions incorporating all elements of Scientific American advertising and promotional offerings (print, custom, SAMind, content, mobile etc.) within what is broadly defined as the New York Territory.

The successful candidate will also collaborate with his/her counterparts at NPG to identify prospects most appropriate for group-wide offerings.

Working directly with external clients and agencies, the Account Executive will use their consultative sales skills to build and develop strong sales relationships across the various markets.

The client base will include a strong base of existing clients and a high percentage of business development requiring consistent levels of client contact, client care and networking, resulting in sales. The Account Executive will work with senior sales management (SA & NPG), marketing, research, and ad sales support to prepare targeted sales proposals of the highest quality.

The ideal candidate will be a pro-active, dynamic and constructive team player who can demonstrate a successful track-record within print and online advertising sales. The Account Executive must have at least a bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of advertising/media sales experience, including experience with online digital display/video/mobile advertising and sponsorship sales. The willingness to travel is required.
