Director of Analytics
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) seeks to Director of Analytics to lead the Science digital research analytics services including web, mobile and application analytics, reporting and analysis. This individual will be responsible for monitoring and better understanding the user experience through research and by creating various feedback mechanisms (i.e. user testing groups, focus groups) He/she will establish processes and measurement protocols for continuous feedback and improvement of the Science web, mobile and app products. The Director of Analytics will also suggest content strategies that attract and retain users and promote revenue generation.Reporting to the Chief Digital Media Officer (Science), the Director of User Research and Analytics: • Leads cross-functional projects as a digital strategy and analytics expert to ensure projects are aligned with the Science digital strategy• Analyzes large, multi-dimensional datasets, identifying actionable insights and recommendations• Develops intelligent analyses backed by quantitative data that guide strategic digital and business decisions• Performs time series analyses and forecasts based on seasonality, trend and cyclicality• Oversees the tracking/reporting of user experience feedback on a daily, weekly, monthly basis to assess website performance and recommend related strategies• Effectively communicates findings to management through presentations and written reports• Keeps abreast and regularly report on important industry user research or trends effecting media publishers• Offers strategic perspective, sound business judgment and insight on ways to improve the Science web products and its content• Maintains currency on key technology initiatives in the STM publishing space (i.e., ORCID, CHORUS)Minimum requirements:• Bachelor's degree in a related field• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in web analysis, specifically performance data extraction tools such as Omniture, WebTrends, Coremetrics, or Google Analytics.
