The Media Specialist serves as a key liaison between KIND and members of the national media, working to translate brand news and initiatives into coverage. They will be responsible for supporting the Communications Manager in ensuring that plans are executed and key impressions goals are met across simultaneous projects.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Media Relations
•Develop and maintain relationships with key members of the national media, with a particular focus on men’s health, men’s lifestyle and sports
•Harness these relationships to secure coverage that speaks to the KIND brand image and product benefits
•Generate excitement around the brand within the media
•Continually develop media worthy pitch angles to ensure a steady stream of coverage
•Pull and keep continual pulse on editorial calendars of key media outlets
•Staff and execute media events and desk side tours

Influencer Relations
•Research, identify and forge relationships with national influencers that fit the brand image, particularly within the sports and men’s lifestyle realm
•Leverage influencer relationships to generate national media coverage
•Support key product launches through influencer outreach

Administrative
•Create key messaging and media briefing overviews for executive media opportunities
•Assist with internal communications and PR activity reporting

Knowledge and Skills
•Experience working with media tracking databases such as Cision
•Proven track record of generating national media coverage, particularly with men’s health, men’s lifestyle and sports
•Entrepreneurial spirit, creative personality, and proven experience of working in a team
•Excellent verbal and written skills
•Deadline oriented and flexible enough to adjust to new opportunities as they arise
•Ability to manage heavy workloads and rapidly shift priorities based upon the organizational needs

Education and Work Experience
•3-5 years working in a fast-paced, team environment in a marketing or PR function
•Bachelors degree in marketing or communications
