USGBC is currently seeking an energetic, self-starter to join its fast-paced Communications Team as a Social Media & Communications Specialist. Working closely with the PR & Communications Director and team, the specialist will manage USGBC’s various social media channels and campaigns, write articles for USGBC publications and online platforms and monitor industry trends and media coverage.

Specific responsibilities include

- Manage multiple social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, Youtube) on a daily basis
- Strategize and oversee social media campaigns, creation of online videos and content and online contests and promotions
- Monitor industry trends and develop new ways to engage USGBC community via social media channels
- Manage the USGBC Community blog channel; write, edit, and schedule articles accordingly for and
- Carefully track social media analytics on a monthly basis
- Other duties as assigned


- Bachelor’s degree required
- Concentration in communications, journalism, marketing preferred


- 3-5 years communications/PR/media experience minimum
- Experience with Burrelles Luce, Vocus, Kapost, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, HTML and other online media tools a plus
- Knowledge of AP Style a plus
