Your tasks
The Product Manager ? Children?s Products, reporting to the Vice President, Digital Development will work with the Digital Product Development team to manage the development and production of mobile applications, enhanced ebooks, websites and other digital products based on Random House Children?s Book?s award-winning collection of books, brands, and authors. The Product Manager will be responsible for proposing new projects, collaborating with other team members on existing projects, as well as overseeing multiple projects through all phases of development and production.

?Propose and own products and product features that complement Random House Digital's long-term innovation roadmap.
?Manage production process on individual projects in consultation with third party developers and RHCB internal digital publishing team
?Drive all aspects of the product lifecycle from ideation to planning and execution with an eye toward creating elegant, simple user experiences
?Write the technical RFP outlining brand background, project goals, and innovation opportunities, solicit bids, and lead the selection process to identify a best-in-class vendor
?Supervise and edit wire-frames and functional spec documents as they relate to the larger user experience flow
?Communicate and collaborate with project stakeholders
?Maintain positive relationships between licensors, internal divisions, third party vendors, team members, and other company resources
?Compile and distribute regular sales and analytics reporting
?Request and deliver art and editorial assets to third parties in a timely manner
?Conduct competitive analysis and study the marketplace for play patterns, themes, and trends that could influence our future products
?Track invoices, contracts, and all production files

Our requirements
?College degree and 4+ years previous experience in children?s games, software, or digital publishing production overseeing multiple projects through completion. Experience with children?s mobile products is a plus.
?Strong project management skills
?Demonstrated understanding of all elements of game/website/software production including creating concepts, budget, design, technology, editorial, audio, QA, and analytics
?Outstanding collaborator and consensus builder
?Ability to work in an Agile development environment and carefully manage multiple projects in various phases of production
?Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management and VIP stakeholders
?Experience communicating production plans and translating editorial and technical language to appeal to technical and non-technical personnel
?Strong technical and business writing skills
?Demonstrated knowledge of the children?s digital landscape, children?s literature, and play patterns (both online and offline) of children from birth through 18 years of age and an interest in developing further expertise in this area
?Experience in sales or digital marketing strongly considered
?Experience with analytics applications and reporting (Flurry, Omniture, Localytics)
?Experience with animation a plus
?Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Proficiency with Keynote, Adobe Creative Suite and Audio/Video editing a plus.
?Experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, MySQL, HTML 5 a plus.
