AtlanticLIVE, the live events arm of The Atlantic magazine, seeks a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and service-minded professional to join our team and contribute to the growth, development, and execution of a wide range of editorial events and programs.

Our ideal candidate will have 1-2 years previous events experience, preferably with joint interests and background in logistics/execution and externally-facing client services. Media/publishing experience (sales, marketing, events, etc.) is a plus but client management experience is required.

Responsibilities Include:
•Collaborate with senior staff to plan and execute events large-scale, multi-day conferences, locally, nationally, and internationally
•Lead smaller events such as roundtable dinners and panels, internal branding programs, and team events
•Develop and recruit program line-up and audiences to meet event specifications through detailed organizational research, overseeing of invitation deployment, and high-touch phone and email communication
•Research event logistics, venue options, and pricing for new event concepts
•Create event briefing materials, including guest biographies and preparatory materials for event participants

•Work with Operations Director on key team administrative projects and responsibilities, such as recruiting/hiring, financial reporting, team-wide projects, competitive research, etc.
•Actively participate in the ideation of new event concepts and proposals as an enterprising, entrepreneurial, and productive team contributor, constantly and eagerly identifying new means of innovation to grow AtlanticLIVE’s impact across all constituent groups (e.g., in person attendees, online viewers/readers, speakers, underwriters)

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate Include:
•Meticulous attention to detail and superior organizational skills
•Ability to forge strong relationships with clients and strategic partners
•Strong research skills
•Ability to manage complex and fast-changing program elements and prioritize effectively in response
•Fluency in digital database products
•Creative and strategic thinking with emphasis on customer service to meet client objectives for an event
•Persuasive communication skills and self-possession in presentation
•Flexibility and ability to push through indecision and ambiguity to deliver results
•Entrepreneurial spirit, track record of initiative, and ownership of work
•True service ethic, spirit of generosity, and gracious sense of humor
•Interest in national affairs, politics, business, and the arts with knowledge of leading figures in each category
•Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of relevant experience
