As Acquisitions Editor you will oversee an existing program in Electrical Engineering with significant potential for growth. In this role you will be expected to manage the Electrical Engineering books program to achieve financial and signing targets; identify and build strategic partnerships; develop strategic editorial and operational plans; manage the expense budgets; participate in selecting, coaching, developing and appraising editorial support colleagues; manage the collection and analysis of market information; identify opportunities to accelerate revenue and profit growth and ensure the acquisition and development of products that meet market needs. This program requires high energy and drive to manage and sign books while ensuring the development and management of the backlist. Significant customer facing skills will be required as well as the ability to collaborate in order to deliver solutions for our partners and customers.

Requirements:
•Minimum of 3 years editorial acquisition experience, with established network of contacts in electrical engineering preferred
•Proven skills in acquiring and developing projects and successfully managing a program
•In-depth knowledge of the electrical engineering markets and interpersonal skills to maintain industry network
•Excellent analytical skills and judgment to identify opportunities and projects with high potential for success
•Financial management skills
•Must be highly motivated and achievement oriented
•Strong leadership skills to build productive working relationships
•Successful negotiatiator with authors, agents, contributors, etc.
•Ability to influence without authority, colleagues in other functional areas (e.g. production, marketing, ect.)
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
