The Role:

The Sales Representative will sell sponsorships globally to corporations, financial services companies and professional services firms. The individual in the role must have a strong background with and/or interest in B2B conferences and events. Our conferences sponsorships team is a fast growing department which leverages Bloomberg’s media platforms and core businesses. The Sales Representative will work closely with clients to have a clear understanding of their business needs and provide consultative solutions. In addition, the Sales Representative will coordinate with Bloomberg Media Sales counterparts as needed on accounts that present integrated revenue opportunities. This position will be based in New York City.

Responsibilities Include:

-Developing and executing a sales plan to produce 30+ paying clients per year
-Prospecting and generating new sales leads and growth through referrals, cold-calling and market research within your given client base and maintaining a database of contacts
-Maximizing client knowledge and having a comprehensive understanding of our series of conferences in order to have a strategic approach to developing and presenting customized sponsorship proposals
-Demonstrating credibility with a proven competency and knowledge of a variety of industry verticals to include: corporate, financial, professional, luxury services, and technology
-Produce regular activity/contact reports and revenue pipeline estimates
-Able to work successfully with Bloomberg’s culture of Knowing the Customer; Moving Fast and Thoughtfully; Learning from Mistakes; Being Bold; Collaborative; Leading by Example; and Doing the Right Thing

Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree
-5+ years of recent and relevant sales experience (experience with conferences preferred)
-Strong track record building senior level client relationships
-Proven new business development, relationship and territory management skills
-Experience working with CRM systems
-Extremely proactive, detailed, responsible and able to work well with a team and the Bloomberg culture
-Highly consultative and confident in sales approach and strategy
-Excellent communication and presentation skills
-Ability to travel as needed - approximately 25 %
