Research & Development Senior Project Manager

The Research & Development Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing all high level projects from concept to product development. We build low cost, high volume, medium complexity electromechanical devices, so you’ll be working with EEs, MEs, SW engineers, Quality Engineers, and Designers. As Research & Development Senior Project Manager, you will:

•Set project objectives, deadlines, specifications and ensure they are met
•Integrate simulation into the engineering flow to improve quality
•Participate in the actual design work as well as hold regular design reviews
•Work with our engineering and product development teams to produce the final design and incorporate DFM improvements
•Coordinate development projects with the US based R&D team
•Draw on experience and resources to help solve the most difficult technical problems
•Manage R&D IP pipeline with Legal team

To be considered for the Research & Development Project Manager position, you need:

•PhD, BS or MS in appropriate discipline
•8 years experience in product design and manufacturing
•Project Management SW expertise
•Ability to manage multifunctional teams
•Ability to drive R&D projects from inception to completion
•Experience in Novel System Architecture
•Taste for simplicity and elegance in technical design
•Strong command of both written and spoken English
•Familiarity with ProE and/or Solidworks
•Experience with thermal and mechanical simulation software
•Knowledge of common manufacturing techniques

•Deep and abiding love of robots and/or digital fabrication
•Previous experience designing automated equipment (CNC, industrial, robots, etc.)
•Current owner of a MakerBot 3D printer
