Reporting to the Assistant Director of Public Relations - Clinical Affairs, you will contribute to and support the development and execution of strategic public relations programs in support of the Medical Center's mission and vision to be a world-class, patient-centered, integrated academic medical center by highlighting key clinical and health activities of the institution. You will also conduct and organize the full range of public relations activities relating to a variety of clinical areas within the Medical Center including developing media outreach strategies, drafting proactive media pitches, helping to fulfill incoming media requests for experts, and serving as key contact for select media outlets. While you will not serve as spokesperson for the organization, you will be required to have daily interaction with the media, as well as with Medical Center faculty and leadership.

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations or Communications (Master's preferred); 5-10 years of agency, non-profit or corporate PR experience; excellent written/oral communications and interpersonal skills; and a proven track record or PR success. In-depth knowledge of local/national PR landscape; ability to identify news worthiness of issues/topics for media coverage; and existing relationships with key local/national healthcare reporters are also required. Additionally, the ability to translate complex healthcare information to lay audiences and a proven track record of health and healthcare delivery system knowledge will be essential.
