Requirements for Position:
Proven PR professional with solid public relations experience in the hospitality/restaurant industry – food and wine knowledge is required! We’re looking for someone with strong communication skills, industry experience, leadership abilities, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team. The ideal candidate has superior client relations experience, is self-motivated, proactive, creative in problem solving, highly organized and has a sense of humor. A background and passion for restaurants and the hospitality industry is a must. We are looking for someone who lives and breathes the business and is fully in tuned with the industry movements inside and out.

Here’s the scoop:

•Account Management
oManage six – eight accounts; solely supervisor on two to three additional accounts; includes management and support of the day-to-day account activities
oWork with Marketing Director and Agency President in serving as a point of contact for clients
oPrepare regular status reports and report to agency president
oWork with team members to manage timelines and action items
oManage timely accounting needs – billing and expenses for clients and company
oManage the master AF&Co. Capabilities deck for new business meetings
oAttend most new business meetings with Agency President
oAssist with new business proposals and contracts

•Public Relations Management:
oCreate and execute strategic plans and publicity campaigns
oDraft press releases and media alerts
oPitch media to secure coverage
oReview press lists
oAssist with event planning and execution
oHost and entertain media
oAssist with social media, e-newsletters and copy writing as needed; provide strategic ideas and direction as it relates to these things
oLead weekly internal PR department meetings

•Staff Management
oMaintain and update account breakdowns for the entire staff
oShare recommendations for staffing when new business comes to the agency
oManage entire Internship Program
?Source interns - place ad and book interviews with potential interviews
?Hire 3 – 4 interns every quarter; coordinate their schedules at the office
?Supervise at a very high level their workload (other managers will work directly with them to assign projects, too)

•Other
oStay on top of top industry trends in the food and hospitality industry; present ideas to clients on an ongoing basis
oRepresent AF&Co. at notable industry events



Job Requirements
This is not an entry-level position. Applicants must possess media contacts in the hospitality industry and a minimum of six years of public relations experience.
•In-depth hotel/restaurant experience and a passion for the industry
•Strong grammar and writing skills and the ability to edit and proofread copy
•Proficient knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Cision
•Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities and operate with a sense of urgency while not losing site of details
•Strong communication skills/proactive and responsive with clients and team members
Passion for the hospitality industry with restaurant/hotel experience a must
•Operate under strict deadlines and high levels of confidentiality
•Articulate with great presentation skills and phone manner
•Attendance at evening and weekend events as needed
