ASSINGMENT EDITOR
CCTV-America is looking for an Assignment Editor to work on the News Gathering Desk in Washington DC. Strong candidates must have at least 3-5 years network/international or major market news gathering experience. Candidates will be required to handle multiple breaking news stories in a fast paced network newsroom environment. The Assignment Editor reports directly to the Director of News Gathering and duties include building strong relationships with the International news desk for CCTV-News Beijing. Editors will also be expected to work closely with program producers and line producers to integrate our coverage. Candidates must be willing to work all shifts including weekends.
PLANNING EDITOR
CCTV-America is adding a planning editor to its daily newscast team in Washington DC. The planning editor will coordinate coverage at least one day ahead for key stories and scheduled special event coverage utilizing strong editorial, journalistic, organizational and communication skills.
GUEST PRODUCERS
The Guest Producer position is part of the News Gathering team, and will support all breaking news, business show and general news. Essential responsibilities will include booking a wide variety of national and international newsmakers, experts, and guests from various fields including politics, foreign relations, business/economy, etc. Producers will conduct pre-interviews, secure facilities for remote interviews and arrange transportation for guests. They will also write introductions for guests and suggested questions for anchors. Other duties will include arranging phone interviews for broadcast during live, breaking news coverage.

FIELD CAMERAMAN

Field cameraman will have knowledge of all equipment on location for acquisition of news and program material. Work closely with editorial field teams to deliver high quality live and recorded material from the field. Meet editorial deadlines for delivery of edited packages. Assist editorial staff with the pre-planning of news and program events. Assist with development of new technical workflows and equipment associated with newsgathering. Edit a variety of items for news and program. A key contributor willing to work closely with other team members. Possess the ability to work independently and make sound judgment about shot and audio selection. Ability to complete workload without constant guidance from producers, journalists or other editors. Sound knowledge of broadcast technology. Able to keep up-to-date with world news and current affairs.

All positions require previous television and international coverage experience.
