National Director of Marketing
Position Summary: The Director position focus will be to maximize the marketing reach/message for NephCure. Specifically, this individual must have a strong track record in creating, developing and executing marketing initiatives to reach and engage the target audience. This is a “roll up your sleeves and get it done” environment! Job requires creative thinking, vision and multi task proficiency. Applicant must be self motivated, passionate about cause related initiatives. Applicant should be committed, versatile, solution oriented with a high level of attention to quality and details.Essential Functions: 1.Perform all functions of marketing, public and media relations program. This includes designing and implementing programs to support patient and physician engagement, advocacy, cause marketing, special events and fundraising; pitching editorial placements (print, TV, Radio, and Web), organizing press conferences/media events, Public Service TV & Radio spots, stunts & promotional events, writing, social media, website updates & maintenance, etc.2.Recruit, motivate, support and supervise pro bono agencies, interns and occasional contractors3.Develop and maintain an efficient and effective department through proper selection of vendors, teamwork and training4.Develop and implement programs to support marketing and fundraising strategies including writing web site content and marketing, events and educational materials 5.Manage and expand NephCure’s online community, including all social media, coordinating content, updates, technology enhancements and training6.Provide counsel and assistance in team setting regarding the integration of a market-oriented approach for constituent engagement, contributions, events, cause-related marketing, customer service, volunteer development and image enhancement.7.Cultivate positive relationships with volunteers, including recruiting and management8.Create/manage successful working environment with a variety of staff, volunteers and their respective skill set and environment9.Identify and monitor industry trends and opportunities to enhance the mission of the organization.10.Budget management and control.11.Analyze constituent groups and identify appropriate productive affiliations.12.Represent organization professionally.13.Work with organizations to develop strategic partnerships.Minimum Requirements:?Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, journalism or related field and seven years of progressively responsible professional experience in developing and implementing communications, integrated (online and offline) marketing and public relations plans and programs for a rapidly growing organization.?Ability to manage diverse activities supporting marketing and communications initiatives, including media, public relations, publications, promotions, communications, Internet, advertising, and related areas.?Strong knowledge on best ways to use and leverage the effective digital communications tools from building a presence in social networks to developing multimedia elements to deliver a message. ?Proficient computer skills/experience with current communications, presentation and web technology.?Expertise in marketing research, data collection, analysis and reporting.?Strong planning, organizational, problem-solving and analysis skills.?Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal and public presentation abilities; supervision experience with two (or more) employees?Experience with engaging volunteers and pro bono services?Knowledge of current issues, trends, goals and purposes of a national non-profit health organization.?Working knowledge, along with the ability to articulate the benefits through effective strategy and implementation, of all aspects of online marketing, including search engine marketing and optimization, email marketing and Web 2.0?Possession of a valid driver's license as some travel is required; participation with intermittent weekend events and meetings; ability to lift and move 25 pounds.?Demonstrated ability to provide impeccable customer support?Ability to work independently, to work under supervision, and to work in a team-based and goal-oriented environmentThe Director will be a key member of the NephCure team.
