The Week and Mental Floss, two brands to make you smarter, are experiencing explosive growth—from the launch of the mental_floss YouTube channel that has grown to 800,000 subscribers in just 8 months complementing a doubling of traffic to mental_floss.com, to The Week bucking the industry trend by increasing frequency and launching an e-commerce store on TheWeek.com.

The Promotion Art Director will play a central role in developing the visual expression of both brands across all marketing channels. Opportunity to gain broad experience, working closely with all stakeholders, within a small entrepreneurial environment.


Responsibilities:
•To define a visual language for each brand to be applied across all marketing materials and communications
•Conceptualization and development of promotional mailers, sales collateral, presentations, client ads, and special sections in print and web
•Collaborate with marketing and sales to conceive and design compelling, cross-platform concepts and mock-ups for RFPs
•Oversight of all design projects from conception to final production within deadline

Requirements:
•3-5 years experience in design and art direction
•Strong conceptual and typographic skills
•Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
•Knowledge of basic web design and html. Experience with CMS a plus
•Strong communication skills
•The ability to manage multiple projects at once and work in an agile environment with minimal supervision
