Art Director, Assistant
Pace University Department of Media Relations
Reporting to the University Relation Art Director, the Art Director, Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Art Director and department in areas such as art direction, photo selections, photo organization, low-level design (print and digital), trafficking and photographing subjects. The person in this position will enable more experienced department staffers focus on higher level university/department initiatives.
Candidate should have between one and three years’ experience in a similar role at a university, agency, or publisher in print and digital and, ideally, in both editorial and marketing materials.
Qualifications:•Hold a degree in commercial art, design or similar field/ or equivalent background. •Be an articulate communicator (verbal and written). •Be able to shoot photography.•Thrive in a fast-paced agency-style environment. •Be a talented visual designer/junior art director/thinker with a desire to take risks while understanding the limits of design parameters and brand identity of materials produced.•Be able to work well with a range of people/disciplines with department. •Have experience/working knowledge of InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite. •Be organized, excel at multi-tasking, extremely detail and deadline oriented.
