DelawareToday, a division of Today Media, is seeking a talented and innovative Art Director for DelawareToday Magazine (12 issues), 302Health (2 issues), Delaware Bride (2 issues), Ultimate Guide to Delaware (1 issue), as well as work with the digital division on delawaretoday.com.

The ideal candidate will have a deep-seated interest and a true love of editorial design, typography, and printed materials. The Art Director will have a strong work ethic and extensive experience in print publication design. In addition, she/he should have an eye for details and the ability to think creatively. The art director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of magazine design: working with the editor to conceptualize stories, arranging and scheduling photo shoots, hiring out photography and illustrations/graphics, collecting supplemental art, cover conceptualization and layout, page layout/design, working with the production department to get images print ready, proof markup, and final approval of magazine layout — all within the magazine's existing style guidelines.

In addition art directors are responsible for managing budgets, negotiating freelance rates, maintaining the magazine's identity, and working with the production director on editorial calendar deadlines.

Requirements: Minimum three years experience in related publication design field. Adobe Creative Suite (CS6) — extreme skill with InDesign is an absolute must. You should be interested in (if not ahead of) current magazine design trends. They must have the ability to work on and meet deadlines (which occasionally overlap), to be efficient and be able to turn projects around quickly.
