We are seeking an Art Director to join our fast growing marketing team to help us connect with small business by developing a powerful visual brand identity and compelling design assets across several mediums: web, print, video, etc. Reporting to the VP of Marketing & Operations of Hearst, this high-energy, multidisciplinary designer will own the complete visual expression of our small business facing brand for use in new customer acquisition, branding building and customer communication.
•Revamping and optimizing Hearst Digital Marketing Services corporate web properties that offer online advertising products to local businesses.
•Designing and producing online advertising assets, including landing pages, graphic emails, and banner ads with the goal of achieving conversion and a strong visual brand expression.
•Enhancing, maintaining and enforcing Hearst Digital Marketing Services visual brand guidelines across all departments, employees and partners.
•Translating complex business requirements into compelling designs that balance business needs with strong visual expression.
•Creating productive working relationships with business stakeholders by developing processes that enable a healthy back-and-forth to achieve the highest quality work possible.
•Designing and producing creative assets, including logos, illustrations and original artwork.
•Creating visual prototypes, storyboards and wireframes.
•Acting as player/coach with responsibility for one in-house Visual Designer and external agencies, with the opportunity to continue to build out a team in the near future.

•6+ years of experience leading and creating interactive and graphic design projects.
•Bachelor’s degree required (MFA is preferred).
•Outstanding portfolio of both visual and interaction design.
•Familiarity with HTML/CSS.
•In-depth knowledge of wireframing, sitemaps and personas.
•Hands-on experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
•Expert in photography, color theory, typography, and print production techniques
•Video production is a plus.
•Passion for achieving high-quality work through testing, iteration, and soliciting feedback from multiple parties.
•Ability to project-manage and coordinate multiple deliverables and resources simultaneously.
•Ability to work with limited direction to satisfy high-level business objectives.
•Agency/vendor management experience is a plus.
•Copy writing experience is a plus.
•Ability to think outside of the box and present creative solutions.
•Excellent communication, written, and presentation skills; comfortable presenting your ideas to a C-level audience.
