Essential Skills and Responsibilities
•Produce custom materials at the quality, speed, and overall expectation of the organization. Proactively manage workload fluctuations so project deadlines are met.
•Work in collaboration with clients and internal team members to design and produce health publications and other custom materials targeted to specific audiences.
•Bring content to life visually through the application of typography, photography, illustration, color, and other graphic elements to ensure that content is both engaging and understandable to the target audience.
•Provide photo consultation to internal project team and clients; procure stock photos that support editorial content.
•Color correct photos and art to meet project and manufacturing standards.
•Create exacting InDesign files using style sheets and grids with speed and precision.
•Release electronic files according to pre-press and manufacturing specs. Check proofs and make corrections to files as needed, with shared accountability for quality control of final printed pieces.
•Translate printed publications into engaging digital online experiences.
•Respond to requests, inquiries, directives, or complaints from clients, managers, and suppliers with understanding and accuracy.
•Foster exceptional interpersonal relationships with colleagues and navigate conflict situations so that projects run smoothly and clients are served well.
•Create design comps and presentation materials to meet project and client goals.
•Participate in internal task-force initiatives to address design, publishing, and workflow challenges.
•Other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field
•4-7 years relevant design experience within an agency, studio, or high-volume publishing environment
•Outstanding portfolio that includes significant magazine or publishing project work
•Mastery of leading graphics and page layout programs (CS5.5) and in-depth understanding of the pre-press and print manufacturing processes
•Web/digital design experience translating print publications into online/interactive engagements a plus
•Successful track record of working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
•Detail-oriented
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills
