Phoenix House seeks a creative, organized, and detail-oriented self-starter to join its Marketing & Communications team. This individual will work directly with the VP & Director of Marketing & Communications, as well as with the Director of Communications Services, Director of Public Information, Digital Content Manager, and Writer/Editor. This position will also interface regularly with the offices of the President and CEO and Chief Medical Officer, as well as senior management and board members.

Phoenix House’s Marketing & Communications department plays a vital role in supporting the organization’s mission to lead men, women, and teens affected by addiction from disrupted to productive lives. We seek an enthusiastic, motivated individual with an interest in writing and digital media, as well as in nonprofit/social service work.

This is an early-career (less than three years of experience) full-time position with full benefits. The position is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys wearing many hats and is eager to gain experience in several areas of communications.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Writing/Editing/Digital
•Provide content and support for our blog, news posts, and social media platforms.
•Assist with digital project management, web research, and content management.
•Oversee, update, and improve the media resource, staff profiles, and headlines sections of our website.
•Assist with the development, production, and delivery of marketing collateral and media materials including press kits, brochures, fact sheets, and talking points.
•Provide content and manage production/distribution Phoenix House e-newsletters, weekly True Story Tuesday emails, and other e-blasts sent to all Phoenix House staff, board members, etc.

Administrative
•Provide clerical and administrative support for the Marketing & Communications Department including creating and maintaining files, processing invoices and check requests, scheduling meetings, and other miscellaneous tasks.
•Manage the team’s internal administrative processes, systems, and procedures. Spearhead special projects including department and status reports.
•Manage Phoenix House photo library; ensure that consent forms are on file for all clients photographed or filmed.
•Track media coverage, journalists, and related issues; organize and produce contact lists and reports; create and distribute daily news clips.

Qualifications:
•Excellent written and oral communications skills, including ability to take initiative and perform follow-up.
•Interest in and experience with digital and social media, from web writing to Facebook and Twitter.
•Ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
•Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
•Experience with Wordpress, MailChimp, video editing, and/or PhotoShop is a plus.
