American Media’s (AMI) Product Design team is seeking an exceptional Designer to join our growing team. You will work closely with the Design Directors and an interdisciplinary team to invent, transform and refine web and mobile products for a variety of lifestyle and entertainment brands. Our team is passionate about creating products our audiences can connect with and crafting visual designs of the highest quality.

Responsibilities of the Product Designer:

Develop original design concepts and deliver polished visual designs along with style guides and technical specifications.

Collaborate closely with development leads throughout the design process, from wireframes and prototypes through the finished product.

Manage time efficiently and respond to changing priorities while working across different projects and brands.

Design according to brand style guidelines and contribute to the creation of a digital brand strategy.

Translate project requirements and client feedback into finished designs.

Communicate conceptual ideas and design decisions both verbally and visually.


Basic Qualifications:

Exceptional aesthetic design skills: strong knowledge of responsive design, typography, color theory.

Strong conceptual thinker.

A obsessively detailed oriented crafts-person.

4+ years experience designing great user experiences for desktop, tablet and mobile

Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite and a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

Familiarity with Drupal and WordPress.

Experience creating and working with wire-frames and sketches.

A solid understanding of mobile trends and technologies.

Knows when to take risks in design to push past obvious and innovate.
