He/She must be capable of effectively leading and clearly articulating art direction and goals to all members of the team. He or she is not only responsible for the quality production of art assets and engaging creative, but also for ensuring timely delivery of work and management of numerous projects simultaneously.

The Art Director will work closely with the marketing team, outside vendors, developers, video editors as well as the Creative Director. Directly manages a Graphic Designer, overseeing layouts and initiating new ideas to drive marketing initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Create compelling concepts from marketing briefs.
• Manage and inspire a Graphic Designer and oversee all designs including concepts, changes or adjustments as well as layout revisions.
• Support seasonal concepting to achieve marketing goals.
• Contribute new ideas to the overall look and feel for brands while maintaining a consistent image for each brand.
• Coordinates art direction for all video and photography shoots.
• Supervise the launch of new video and web projects.
• Research, develop and execute digital design needs for marketing.
• Responsible for all print and collateral, including powerpoint presentations.
• Lead the concept and execution of brand creative.
• Partner with marketing and sales leadership to create compelling designs for education collateral.
• Develop and execute design direction for marketing channels including collateral, presentations, websites, videos, email campaigns, and event materials to support various marketing initiatives and reinforce the brand.
• Manage and design projects from beginning to end with excellent communication and project management skills.
• Research design concepts and visual identities in the market to identify and apply inspiration to the brand and drive strength.
• Stay abreast of design trends and new technologies; provide innovative ideas for design solutions in support of objectives and initiatives.


Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s is a plus.
• 7+ years art direction experience, 3+ years experience managing designers.
• In depth knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Flash.
• Strong knowledge of web design best practices.
• Basic knowledge of HTML, Wordpress, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Adobe AfterEffects & video editing (a plus) needed for this position.
• Intermediate to Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
• Able to work in both a Mac and PC based environment.
• Positive, can-do attitude with the desire to build something.
• Ability to adapt quickly to direct and constructive feedback.
• Can independently identify and drive projects that support marketing objectives.
• Communicates with others on workload issues and needs, the progress of work, and results.


Additional Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Individual must be organized, detail oriented, dependable with a great attitude and the ability to work in a deadline driven team environment.
