The World Science Festival offers a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial and creative individual to contribute to a dynamic and growing media organization. The Associate Director, Corporate Sponsorship and Partnerships will be responsible for identifying and leveraging opportunities to significantly increase the number and size of sponsorships, with both new and existing sponsors. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record independently identifying, building & maintaining revenue producing relationships, with the ability to align funding to innovative programming that supports STEM and STEAM initiatives. This position requires the proven ability to create, successfully negotiate and execute sponsorship packages for a broad array of live and online integrated opportunities.

Responsibilities:

•Develop and manage a comprehensive corporate sponsorship program that leverages all of the opportunities available to sponsors, including, but not limited to, Festival programs and events, year-round live event programs (in New York City, around the country and internationally), and digital content
•Develop sponsorship packages that reflect the opportunities available at the WSF, including appropriate sponsorship levels, sponsor recognition and media exposure benefits
•Identify new and increased sponsorship opportunities for existing clients
•Research new corporate prospects, identifying and articulating how potential sponsors can achieve their objectives through supporting WSF programs with sponsorships and grants and partnering with WSF on producing sponsor-generated content
•Work closely with the Marketing Department to develop and produce collateral materials for use in acquisition of corporate sponsorship
•Establish, cultivate, and maintain personal contact and relationships with corporate foundation program officers and marketing executives
•Manage submission of sponsorship and corporate foundation proposals and other correspondence, including letters of intent, solicitation letters, proposals, budgets, acknowledgements, and presentations
•Oversee the tracking and acknowledgement of in-kind donations
•Manage contract negotiations, with support of Director of Development and COO
•Act as liaison between sponsors and WSF staff , working closely with appropriate departments to ensure appropriate benefit fulfillment for all sponsors
•Manage activation for sponsors


Requirements:

•Proven track record in raising multiple major sponsorships
•Demonstrated knowledge of methods for obtaining information about the CSR and marketing programs of corporations; ability to identify corporate brands that fit well with the mission and goals of WSF
•Self-motivation and discipline to regularly set and achieve work goals; must be creative, strategic, highly organized with strong sales development skills
•Excellent organizational, interpersonal, public presentation and networking skills, with large groups as well as with individuals
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Experience using online databases and other sources to locate financial and philanthropic information
•Ability to travel as required
•A minimum 5-7+ years demonstrated successful corporate sponsorship development, or equivalent experience and a bachelor’s degree, are required
•Experience developing sponsor partnerships in the Tech and Science categories preferred
•Must possess a passion for the arts, science, and education and be inspired by the possibility for cross-fertilization among these spheres
