Scholastic Education is seeking to hire a Senior Editor (math intervention) with successful educational publishing experience in the math sector. He/she will join a growing division and work collaboratively with a smart dedicated team of out-of-the-box thinkers and educators. The ideal candidate will have prior experience teaching mathematics to children.

As a Senior Editor at Scholastic Education, a leader in the field of educational technology, you will develop engaging, blended learning content / programs and innovative intervention technology products to meet the needs of struggling students in the middle grades.

Our offices are convenient to public transportation and located in one of Manhattan's most vibrant neighborhoods.

Responsibilities:

•Support the Supervising and Executive Editors on the development of mathematics content for instructional software and print materials.
•Communicate and collaborate with internal and external teams to develop efficient and effective workflow and obtain feedback.
•Will review, edit, and proof mathematics content.
•Manage writers and editors for designated portions of the program.
•Work with design and engineering to oversee development of assigned program components.
•Establish goals and deadlines to meet project schedule.
•Take a hands-on approach to ensure completion of all project deliverables.

Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in mathematics or mathematics education (Master's degree preferred)
•At least 3-5 years editorial experience in educational publishing
•Middle or High School mathematics teaching experience preferred
•Excellent attention to detail, process, and organization
•Capable of learning new processes and technologies quickly
