Design and produce print and digital advertising and promotional materials as well as online digital assets across a wide array of fiction and nonfiction titles. Manage design staff in the creation of print and digital assets of very busy Creative Services department.

Major Responsibilities:
• Develop art concepts and create top quality creative and well-designed advertising & promotional pieces across a wide array of categories
• Work closely with Creative Services Senior Director, Associate Director
• Influence overall look and aesthetic of visual pieces produced by department as well as advertising, etc. created by out of house agency and freelancers
• Supervise and direct in-house designers in creation of advertising and promotional materials, both print and digital
• Digital Design- digital banners, landing pages, multimedia presentations, etc
• Print Design- Advance reading copy back covers, flyers, postcards, posters, bookmarks, advertisements, rtc
• Adhere to deadlines
• Liaison with cover art and production departments, especially on creation of advance reading copy design and production
• Check designers' files to assure print-ready quality
• Other responsibilities as needed

Required Skills / Knowledge:
• Proficient in Macintosh OSX, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office
• Advanced understanding of printing and production processes
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver and JavaScript
• Ability to balance a heavy workload and complete projects in a timely manner
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Experience Needed:
• Minimum of five years design experience a must
• Experience in a supervisory role
• Able to art direct a wide range of projects from print to multi-media

Educational Background Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Art or equivalent
